Overcoming barriers to learning, volunteering and employment
As a small, grant-giving organisation we look for innovative ways of combining skills, experience and money to make a positive and sustainable impact.
The focus of our support is on individuals whose ambitions are to deliver social change and build communities.
We incubate projects in the charity and social enterprise sector that help overcome barriers to learning, volunteering and employment.
We share our learning from our current work and from our history of supporting career transitions into the social sector.
Barriers to learning
We support students who experience economic and related barriers to study for a charity sector Masters degree
Social Activism in Schools
We work with schools to co-create and support local projects that have a positive social impact. These student-led projects benefit from a modest grant and expert advice from volunteers from the social and business sectors.
Career transitions
We share our learning to improve understanding of the social sector and to help newcomers to the sector with practical advice that will help them make sense of what they are experiencing.
We have learning to share on the shape and dynamics of the UK social sector, on career transitions into the social sector and how to get started on a new career in the social sector.
Collaborations
We work with funders that want to enhance their grants with professional support. We call this Grant+ support.
