Paid Work

Finding paid work as a consultant, interim, part-time, coach, mentor or adviser can involve you searching in many places. We will try and help you make sense of this world.

The social sector is serviced by a number of specialist recruiters where you will find the usual array of full time and part time jobs. We feature some of them here. We also note some of the specialist consultancies that operate in the social sector, including our sister organisation Eastside Primetimers.

Finally, we also link to a growing number of sites just for portfolio careerists and freelancers - these service a range of sectors, of which the social sector is one.

Specialist consultancies focused on the social sector

Consultancies can be categorised into functional specialists, such as fundraising, income generation or impact measurement, and sub-sector specialists, such as housing or education. Because the UK social sector is so broad there are very few consultancies that cover the entire sector. We list below the ones that we are most aware of and what we regard as being their main areas of expertise and specialism.
