Self-awareness, being able to articulate your core values, work preferences, skills and strengths is critical when it comes to finding the right opportunity for you. Whether you have a clear idea of the type of charity/social enterprise you want work with and what you want to do, or know that you want to make the move but are not sure what you are looking for, investing some time and energy in reflecting on who you are, what you want from your work and what you have to offer will enable you to:

  • Understand what you want from your next move and be able to recognise the right opportunities when you see them

  • Create a great CV (and online profile) that reflects who you are, what is special and unique about you and that you can tailor as necessary to demonstrate how you will add value through your skills, knowledge, experience and achievements

  • Talk confidently about yourself in all situations and let people know what you are looking for and how you can help them
