Future of Work

In January 2020 we launched our initiative to kick start a debate on the Future of Work in the social sector. Since then, COVID-19 has accelerated many of the trends we were discussing, such as digitisation of services and flexible work.

Our Future of Work programme incorporates an events series and our Good Work Blog. Through these we seek to explore issues in the sector including flexible work, equality and diversity, health and wellbeing, the impact of data and automation.

Encouraging social sector organisations to provide ‘good’ work

This edition of ‘EP Insights’ looks at how social sector organisations can do more to offer flexible work to their employees and volunteers. It includes 10 of the best examples from within the sector, as well as advice on the use of interim managers and interviews with Chief Executives who have made it work..

In January 2020 we held a seminar on the Future of Work in the Social Sector. Ruth Cane shares the main things we learned at this event, looking over five ‘mega-trends’: youth expectations, skills, ‘good work’, digitisation, and the importance of diversity and wellbeing.
